This Section of BS 1902 : Part 5 describes a method for determining the thermal expansion of refractory materials. It is applicable only to products which have been fired to a temperature equal to or greater than the upper limit of intended testing.
The maximum temperature for testing is 1100 °C.
NOTE 1. The temperature is restricted because of the material recommended for the equipment and the absence of water cooling.
