This Standard covers enamelled cast iron and enamelled steel plumbing fixtures, and specifies requirements for materials, construction, performance, testing, and markings. This Standard covers the following plumbing fixtures: a) bathtubs;\u2028b) drinking fountains and water coolers;\u2028c) lavatories;\u2028d) shower bases; and\u2028e) sinks:\u2028 i) bar sinks;\u2028 ii) clinic sinks;\u2028 iii) kitchen sinks;\u2028 iv) laboratory sinks;\u2028 v) laundry sinks;\u2028 vi) service sinks; and\u2028 vii) utility sinks. \u2028This Standard is “harmonized” – developed in response to industry requests for uniform standards that would be acceptable in both the United States and Canada. A112.19.1 \/ A112.19.2 \/A112.19.3 are to be used in conjunction with components described in other volumes of the ASME A112 series. Careful application of these A112 standards will help users to comply with pertinent regulations, while achieving the operational and safety benefits to be gained from the many industry best-practices detailed within these volumes.
