{"id":278465,"date":"2024-10-19T18:46:09","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T18:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-5724-2-151989\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T15:18:50","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T15:18:50","slug":"bs-5724-2-151989","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-5724-2-151989\/","title":{"rendered":"BS 5724-2.15:1989"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Addition:<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This Particular Standard applies to <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">capacitor discharge<\/small> X-<small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">ray generators<\/small> operating in <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">intermittent mode<\/small> for medical <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">radiography<\/small>, in which the electrical energy for <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">loading<\/small> of the X-<small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">ray tube<\/small> is completely or mainly capacitively stored at, and switched in, the high-voltage circuit.<\/p>\n<p>This Particular Standard is confined to those devices which are <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">medical electrical equipment<\/small> and in which<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>the storage capacitor is in the high-voltage circuit and has a specified capacitance not exceeding 2&nbsp;\u03bcF,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">initial<\/small> X-<small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">ray tube voltage<\/small> is between 40&nbsp;kV and 150&nbsp;kV,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>an overcurrent protection, if provided, would not require a rating exceeding that which corresponds to an apparent power of 3 kVA,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>LOADING of the X-<small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">ray<\/small> TUBE is controlled in the high-voltage circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Particular Standard does not exclude <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">capacitor discharge<\/small> X-<small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">ray generators<\/small> that are capable of operation in <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">continuous mode<\/small> for <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">direct radioscopy<\/small> or <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">indirect radioscopy<\/small>. However, for this mode of operation the device will have to comply with the relevant requirements for diagnostic <small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">high-voltage generators<\/small> and diagnostic X-<small style=\"text-transform: uppercase\">ray equipment<\/small> (see Sub-clause&nbsp;<b>1.3.102<\/b>).<\/p>\n<p>X-ray generators, in which electrical energy for loading is completely or mainly stored and switched capacitively, and in which the storage capacitor does not exceed 2GmF and the tube voltage is 40 kV to 150 kV.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Medical electrical equipment.
