This document is a general guide directing users to Standards dealing in detail with specific areas of fire hazard assessment, fire protection and fire regulation. <\/p>\n<p> The Handbook does not provide mandatory requirements on fire matters but advises the user on the applicability of State, Territory and local government regulations. <\/p>\n<p> NOTES: <br \/> 1 The Building Code of Australia (BCA) calls up most of the fire test methods and related Standards needed to define requirements and levels of performance for buildings. <\/p>\n<p> 2 The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has a number of fire test methods that are used for ship construction.
