The acceptability of this procedure is dependent upon<br \/>\ndocumented statistical data appropriate to correlate all tests,<br \/>\ndata reduction techniques, and special instrumentation to the<br \/>\nrequired Federal tests.<\/p>\n<p>When using the audit test procedure to assess the emissions<br \/>\nperformance of production engines, considerations should be given<br \/>\nto expected emissions deterioration factors and quality control<br \/>\nlimits should be adjusted accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>This document is intended as a guide for the measurement and<br \/>\nassessment of transient smoke and steady-state gaseous emissions<br \/>\nfrom heavy duty vehicular diesel engines only using a shortened<br \/>\nengine dynamometer cycle which may be applicable to production line<br \/>\nor production quality audit conditions.
